Staff Spotlight: Igor Kuwonu

Chexology’s culture isn’t carved in stone, it grows organically from the character of each member of our team. Together, we make up a close-knit company of individuals from all walks of life. One of those team members is Igor Kuwonu!

Igor, what is your role in the company? What types of challenges are you solving?

I am the Client Support Lead, responsible for the successful onboarding of new clients and support/troubleshooting for existing clients. I also am focused on implementing new processes to streamline our customer’s experience from onboarding to customer support.

What drew you to Chexology?

This is one of those stories where you’re just looking for a temporary gig and end up believing in the vision! I started as a coat check runner/attendant for a New Year's Eve event and worked my way up the company to where I am now. What drew me to stick with Chexology ultimately was just believing in the product and the relationships I built with the team -- especially working with Derek on events like the Museum of Modern Art.

Derek’s passion is quite contagious, and I’m grateful to be working alongside a thoughtful, ambitious, and persevering leader. It's hard not to be drawn to a company like that.

What advice do you have for prospective Chexology candidates?

If you have a passion for tech, problem-solving, and bringing a viable solution for item rental and storage to all corners of the world, then this is the place for you! Not only do you get to do all of the aforementioned, but you also get to work alongside smart, caring, thoughtful, driven, and super-collaborative folks!

What’s one of your favorite companies Chexology partners with?

One Tree Planted has been my favorite partnership because a tree is planted for every new customer we sign-up with, which is a really cool way to impact our planet positively. We work tirelessly to reduce paper usage by eliminating the paper ticket and planting trees to show our commitment to creating a more sustainable world is such a rewarding gesture.

What’s a piece of advice that’s worth sharing?

As cliché as it may sound, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is a piece of advice I’ve held onto. I absolutely love that quote. I think it is super important to keep this in mind to empathize better with others. We never know what anyone is going through, so we should always strive to be kind.

If you were guaranteed success, what profession would you do for the rest of your life?

I would research the topic of spirituality and consciousness, trying to answer questions like are we connected, why are we here, and what does being human mean. All of these topics fascinate me. I would love to explore them in depth.

What is your favorite part about working at Chexology?

The fact that I've learned a little bit of everything from customer service to technical troubleshooting to flashing a raspberry pi SD card for our conveyor integration and everything in between. Learning is awesome!
