When you’re in the business of shaking things up, standing out comes naturally. At this year’s Hospitality Show in San Antonio, Chexology did just that. Between allowing attendees to play with our paperless tool, lighting up faces with our seven-foot suitcase, and sparking conversations about the future of the hospitality industry, we made quite a splash!
This year, Chexology demoed powerful new features, allowing hotel teams to see what’s going on in real-time. By replacing piles of paper with instant, glanceable updates, staff can quickly access guest details without the disruption of writing out tickets, freeing them to focus on meaningful interactions. Hotels can now efficiently pass tasks between teams, accelerate deliveries, and gain insights into why services exceed or fall short of standards.
Attendees also enjoyed our interactive booth, which allowed everyone to play with the simplicity of our paperless hotel experience. We were able to show how Chexology harmoniously handles a guest's journey from arriving at the valet podium, to checking their luggage at the bell desk, to holding their skis or golf clubs. Of course, it takes a lot of work behind the scenes to make something so seamless look this simple—but that's the beauty of Chexology.

Our CEO and Founder, Derek Pacqué, strolled down the red carpet of The Hospitality Show expo to the delight of countless happy faces. Reactions ranged from laughter to amazement, with a mountain of quips about how much easier life would be if the TSA allowed carry-ons of this size. (Video above.)
Behind the joyful stunt, Derek wanted to draw attention to the big picture—how Chexology’s technology is transforming the bell desk in a giant way.
"Paper tickets are no longer the way to operate a hotel,” says Derek. “By replacing paper with a digital record of what’s going on, we’re able to provide valuable insights allowing teams to control and optimize service levels. We’re also increasing hotel ratings and delivering team analytics to help teams staff in smarter ways."
The beauty of Chexology is that the guest is their claim ticket. Gone are the days of theft from falsely claiming lost luggage or valet tickets since the confirmation number lives securely in your guest's text conversation.
So, how does Chexology work?
In a nutshell, three elements work in harmony to create this paperless process:
A simple app that runs on iPhones, iPads, and web
This app acts as your team’s home base, allowing you to see everything coming in and going out from anywhere. You can check on a customer's reservation, create a reservation, or review details about the guest’s stored items, location, and any unique information about their stay. Your team can even capture photos of the guest's belongings to ensure that each item is returned to its rightful owner.
Eco-friendly NFC tags
Chexology keeps track of everything through reusable item tags and storage stickers that use NFC (Near-field communication) chips. Whether you're holding or lending items, Chexology's tap-and-go experience is lightning fast. Each reusable tag connects back to our app and allows you to track any number of items simultaneously, greatly improving organization and eliminating misplaced items.
Optional SMS messages
Our custom text messaging is the last element that ties the whole experience together. Guests who check items in and out receive a personalized text message as their claim number. Guests will receive a friendly text message when they first check-in and again when they check out. Chexology will even allow you to send an alert text if a guest forgets to pick up their personal items. With Chexology, nothing gets left behind.

For our team, The Hospitality Show was an invaluable opportunity to connect with attendees and industry leaders. We aimed to truly understand their current challenges and envision where they see hospitality in the coming years.
